Melanie de Coppet founded Red Table Catering in
January, 2001 with a unique flair for the culinary
and a passion for entertaining. Since the company's
inception, Red Table's clientele has expanded to
include some of New York's most prominent figures
in the arts and entertainment industry.
Ms. de Coppet began her career in film and stage,
developing and producing new works with Eureka
Pictures, Greenestreet Films, and Mabou Mines
Theater Company. When she realized that she
preferred the performing art of the kitchen to that
of the screen and stage, she swapped her scripts for
saucepans, and vowed to search the globe for the
best of everything edible.
From tagine in Morocco and sticky toffee pudding
in London, from larb gai in Bangkok back to good
old American meatloaf, she has learned from
professional chefs and gourmands alike, tweaking
her recipes to perfection. Like Melanie, Red Table
Catering combines relaxed professionalism with an
impeccable sense of style.
Ms. de Coppet, who was born in London and
raised in New York, graduated with honors from
Stanford University. She has been hosting dinner
parties since the age of fourteen.
